Choice Music Prize shortlist announced



The shortlist for the Pick Music Plunder: Irish whiskey Album of the Class 2007 has been announced.
Delorentos, Cathy Davey and The Flaws wholly feature amongst the nominees, vIII of whom get released their albums independently.
The other heptad nominees are Adrian Crowley, Dry County, David Geraghty, Kila, Roisin Potato, Stanley Superintendent 800 and Super Extra Fillip Party.
The short list was selected by a dialog box of 12 Irish music media professionals and the boilersuit success volition be chosen by this panel at the Pick Music Prize outcome at Vicar Street, Irish capital on 27 February.
The winning act volition receive €10,000, as well as a specially commissioned award.

Chatshow host Trisha Goddard has been diagnosed with breast genus Cancer, it was announced today.

Pete Doherty is to play the biggest solo performance of his career so far at London's famed Royal Albert Hall this April.
The Babyshambles frontman will play the historic venue, home of the Proms, on 26 April. The venue has a capacity of around 5,000.
The 27-year-old is said to be concentrating on his music career after splitting from supermodel Kate Moss and attempting to stay out of trouble with the law.
He is currently working on his debut solo album and has played several small shows over the past few months.
He recently offered his support to troubled singer Amy Winehouse but was branded a "scumbag" by her father and warned to stay away.
